The group’s mission is;
‘The Gateway A11 East Action Group is committed to persuading the Government to fund the approved dualling of the A11 (Fiveways to Thetford) into its transport spending priorities.
The Action Group considers the delay to the agreed scheme as a major blow to the economic prosperity of the region, impacting on businesses of all sizes and local communities.
The A11 should be designated as a road of national and regional importance – it links the UK to Europe, and the East to the rest of the country – it is an essential economic artery within our transport network.
The case for the dualling was won – the Gateway A11 East Action Group intends to focus on the impact on businesses and public safety of the potentially long delay ( or cancellation) of the dualling and vigorously campaign for the schemes reinstatement of funding’.
